About Helen Whitney: Ms. Whitney is an award-winning filmmaker with over thirty years of experience producing dramatic features and documentary films.  Among the awards Helen Whitney has won are; The George Foster Peabody, the Emmy, the Alfred I. DuPont, the Humanitas, the Christopher in addition to being nominated for Oscar. Her subjects have stretched across a broad spectrum of topics including youth gangs; a portrait of the 1996 Presidential candidates; a Trappist monastery in Massachusetts; the McCarthy Era; Pope John Paul II; and photographer Richard Avedon. Her newest documentary, Forgiveness: A time to love and a time to hate is slated to air on PBS in 2010.
